Terminals, rail ramps, and equipment depots in Houston
Houston has several freight geographies within one market. Bayport and Barbours Cut are Port Houston’s container-terminal references. Manchester and Jacintoport are private marine cargo operations. Settegast, BNSF’s Houston/Pearland reference, and CPKC Kendleton add separate rail origins, while equipment yards stretch from Galena Park and northeast Houston to La Porte.
Before arranging a truck, establish whether the job concerns a released ocean container, a rail unit, or cargo that needs special loading. The answer identifies the operator and handling plan. A general Houston port address cannot resolve those differences.

Some regional names differ from the postal city: the Kendleton rail reference uses a Beasley address, while the BNSF Houston/Pearland reference uses Brisbane Street in Houston. Match the facility and release together rather than choosing by city name alone.
Bayport and Barbours Cut are separate container gates
is the La Porte container reference on East Barbours Cut Boulevard. Bayport is the Port Road reference near Seabrook. Use the terminal named on the booking or release, then check Port Houston’s for its current approach and transaction process.
The terminals share Port Houston customer resources, including the , but they are different physical origins. A shared system does not make an appointment, receiving instruction, or available container transferable between them.
For an import, reconcile the container number, carrier release, unit availability, and the driver’s visit arrangement before committing the customer slot. For an export, check the booked terminal, vessel receiving dates, and cutoff. General gate hours do not establish that the vessel is already receiving that loaded container.
If an order has been copied from a previous Houston shipment, check the terminal field explicitly. A familiar ocean carrier can use different terminal assignments, and a changed origin can affect the truck route even when the receiver remains the same.
Manchester and Jacintoport require a cargo description
describes private breakbulk handling, warehouses, truck scales, deep-draft docks, and dockside rail at the Ship Channel/Sims Bayou site. That combination is relevant to cargo that needs storage, rail access, or handling outside a standard container flow.
identifies its cargo-handling and stevedoring operation at 16398 Jacintoport Boulevard. Match the cargo release to that private terminal rather than substituting a Port Houston container gate. The operator’s terminal guidelines and service contact should establish how the truck visit is arranged.
For steel, machinery, crates, or another breakbulk cargo, give the carrier and handler piece count, dimensions, weight, packaging, and loading method. Identify lifting or securing information supplied by the cargo owner. Confirm that the receiving premises can unload the inland vehicle selected for the job.
If cargo arrives by rail or barge before the truck collection, establish the actual availability and release at the handling point. A facility’s multimodal capability is useful background, but the truck still needs a confirmed cargo handoff and loading arrangement.
Rail pickups have their own service windows
is the Kirkpatrick Boulevard reference in northeast Houston. Its current page distinguishes domestic flip hours from international pickup and drop-off handling windows. This is a material scheduling detail: continuous terminal access does not mean every international lift can occur at any hour.
Check the window for the intended transaction and provide the suitable chassis. A morning international collection and an afternoon international receiving task should be planned under the applicable operator schedule, not a generic 24-hour-ramp assumption. Verify the current page and shipment instruction before dispatch.
BNSF’s Houston/Pearland reference is on Brisbane Street. CPKC Kendleton is a separate regional rail origin on Doris Road. Preserve the named ramp on the release and obtain its current truck approach. A container at one cannot be collected at another because the receiver is closer to it.
For a port-to-inland rail booking, ask where the unit will next be released and whether a local truck transfer is needed. A service can include a rail connection without requiring the planner to arrange an additional waterfront dray independently.
La Porte and northeast Houston equipment stops
The ConGlobal yards on Mayo Shell Road and TX-146 are separate yards. provides the operator reference. Integrated Marine Services on East Barbours Cut Boulevard is a distinct La Porte entry, not the same address as the marine terminal farther along that corridor.
EMS and Top Logistics have separate South Lake Houston Parkway addresses. Gulf Transport on Howton Street and W.W. Rowland on Wallisville Road add other equipment references. Carry the exact operator and street number into an owner-directed release or return.
Confirm container acceptance independently from chassis acceptance. For a grounded collection, establish lifting and a suitable chassis; for a mounted return, determine whether the chassis stays. A depot can be the correct empty-container destination while another site is required to close the chassis movement.
For storage or repair, state the service, equipment owner, loaded or empty status, dates, and authorization. A broad network capability does not reserve handling or space for the actual unit. If cargo will be unloaded, identify the warehouse and work scope separately.
Follow the shipment to the receiver and final return
Give the carrier the actual receiving premises and unloading arrangement. A live unload, drop, warehouse transfer, and project-cargo delivery can produce different truck and equipment schedules. For a drop, agree on the ready notification and later collection; for a live unload, coordinate the subsequent return with its window.
For a transload, include packaging, quantity, dimensions, weight, handling, outbound vehicle, and empty disposition after stripping. The helps compare the complete alternatives.
