Terminals and rail ramps in Fort Lauderdale

Fort Lauderdale's container gateway is Port Everglades, where marine terminals and Florida East Coast Railway's near-dock facility perform different parts of the freight journey. Florida International Terminal handles a specific marine-terminal transaction; the FEC facility handles a rail handoff; the port administration address is an authority reference. None should be substituted for another on a truck order.

Port Everglades serves Broward County and the wider South Florida market, including freight destined for Miami-Dade and Palm Beach County. Those delivery connections remain relevant even though Miami and West Palm Beach now have separate local facility guides.

The Port Everglades entry at 1850 Eller Drive follows the authority's . It is not a generic cargo gate. Obtain the terminal, tenant, or handling agent's receiving address for the shipment.

Florida International Terminal and its customer tools

gives 4100 McIntosh Road. Keep that current reference on the shipment order instead of an older McIntosh Road number. The operator also provides appointment, vessel-schedule, customer-support, late-gate, and special cargo-handling resources.

Use those tools according to the physical task. An import enquiry concerns the individual container's availability and release. An export visit needs the correct booking and receiving window. A late-gate request or flatrack stripping request is an additional arrangement that should not be inferred from an ordinary appointment.

Check the current empty instructions independently from the loaded visit. FIT links a separate empty-yard resource from its customer tools; a prior import pickup at McIntosh Road does not prove that the empty should return through the same entrance. The equipment owner and receiving operator need to agree on the assigned transaction.

For an unusual load, describe what will leave the terminal: a container on a chassis, cargo stripped from it, or a piece requiring specialized loading. Provide dimensions, weight, and handling requirements before selecting a vehicle. A terminal's ability to handle cargo does not establish acceptance of every road configuration or an unbooked special lift.

FEC's near-dock facility is a rail operation

identifies the FEC-operated Intermodal Container Transfer Facility and describes its domestic and international functions. It also distinguishes domestic and international gate complexes. Confirm whether the transaction uses the domestic or international gate.

FEC Fort Lauderdale uses 1500 Eller Drive. The railroad's is the relevant operator reference. Check the current terminal instructions and booking provider's release for the individual move.

For a vessel-to-rail shipment, ask whether the transfer is already part of the booked transport. The local truck need may be a specific transfer, a final delivery after rail release, or no independent port-side dray at all. A near-dock rail connection is infrastructure; the booking establishes who uses it and who arranges the handling.

If a customer requests a truck transfer between FIT and the rail operation, identify both ends, both references, the container and chassis arrangements, and the receiving deadline. A short transfer still needs a confirmed destination and an accepted transaction.

Port access and cargo handling beyond container lifts

The authority's covers more than conventional container work. Port Everglades also handles bulk, breakbulk, and other specialized cargo, through different facilities and handling arrangements. A truck enquiry using only the port name leaves the physical loading task unresolved.

For a port-tenant collection, obtain the assigned building, berth or cargo area, operator, and pickup order. Establish whether the cargo is palletized, floor-loaded, bundled, wheeled, or otherwise requires special equipment. The receiving customer should confirm how it can unload the same freight at the destination.

For refrigerated or perishable cargo, coordinate the applicable terminal release and any examination or warehouse handling before promising delivery. Power at one site does not establish powered storage at another. A storage request should identify the temperature requirements, unit condition, duration, and party responsible for monitoring.

Connect Broward pickup to the actual receiver

A Fort Lauderdale origin can lead to a local Broward delivery or a longer move within South Florida. State the actual customer entrance and appointment, including a Miami-Dade or Palm Beach County destination when applicable. Do not compare that job with a nominal local-port move that omits the same distance or empty return.

If the receiver needs a drop, agree on the chassis arrangement, expected empty-ready day, and later collection. If cargo must transfer into a different vehicle, obtain the warehouse and handling scope. The explains the additional cargo and equipment responsibilities.

The provides the neighboring PortMiami, Hialeah, and Miami-area depot context. Use it when those locations actually appear in the shipment's itinerary, while keeping Port Everglades as the origin for a container released here.
